EU commissioner warns of legislation on tax co-ordination

States must tidy up their tax systems to protect businesses and citizens from double taxation and discrimination when they cross borders, the EU's tax commissioner said yesterday.

Amid a growing number of legal challenges, Laszlo Kovacs said he would introduce legislation if necessary to improve tax co-ordination between the the EU's 25 member states.
