After suffering the departure of three executives led by retail head Andrew Jones , British Land boss Chris Grigg has hired two directors to help oversee the group's investment strategy.

Stephen Smith , the well-regarded global head of Axa Real Estate's asset management, will join as chief investment officer, while Charles Maudsley , co-head of Europe at LaSalle Investment Management, will oversee business expansion.
