Interview: Klaus Schwab

When Klaus Schwab, then a business professor at the University of Geneva, organised the first World Economic Forum 37 years ago, he could not have predicted how the event would turn “Davos” into a global brand.

Mr Schwab, the organisation’s president, recalls how an Alpine location was selected because it seemed preferable to a metropolis, with all its distractions, for his planned gathering of top European managers.
