Reports debunk red tape complaints

Business complaints about drowning in a sea of red tape, arising from the introduction of employment laws by both Brussels and the government, are based more on myth than hard fact, two separate reports have suggested.

A Commons inquiry has said the level of employment legislation is about right, while the Europe minister has attacked claims - by the chancellor, among others - that the European Union accounts for at least half of all new regulations.
