Concern at outlook for jobs after rate rises

The first signs that employers may become more pessimistic about taking on extra staff, following several interest rate rises, have emerged in a labour market study published today.

A survey of more than 750 employers, conducted by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and the consultants KPMG, found summer hiring intentions had remained strong, while the medium-term outlook looked more insecure.
