Brummer & Partners, a Stockholm-based hedge fund group, is a survivor in a dramatically contracted industry.

The partnership outperformed its peers and benchmarks in 2008. In the past 12 months, eight of its 10 hedge funds generated returns ranging from 7 per cent to 28 per cent gains, while various comparable benchmark hedge fund indices experienced deep losses.
