MEPs threaten UK opt-out on working week restrictions

A deal that would allow Britain to keep its opt-out from European Union curbs on working hours is expected to be rejected by Euro-MPs this week.

Amendments calling for the opt-out to be scrapped, three years after a proposed working time directive comes into force, are expected to be approved by the employment and social affairs committee of the European parliament.
