Gadaffi’s son admits jail medics were tortured

The son of Muammer Gadaffi, the Libyan leader, has acknowledged that foreign medical workers imprisoned for eight years for allegedly infecting hundreds of children with HIV were tortured while in detention.

In an interview with al- Jazeera, the Arab satellite network, Saif al-Islam al-Gadaffi said the medics, who were detained in 1999, were tortured using electricity and “were threatened that their family members would be targeted”.
