Granada sales chief to head ITV advertising

The most fiercely contested senior management job at Granada and Carlton's combined ITV group has been won by Graham Duff, Granada's sales chief, following a battle with his counterpart at Carlton.

The task of running ITV's joint advertising sales operation - one of the biggest jobs in the industry - was created when the government allowed both companies to combine their airtime sales arms as part of the £4.5bn merger, despite strong opposition from advertisers.
