Sir, John Kay implies that only a Marxist (Groucho or otherwise) could support climate policies that just benefit future generations (“Climate change: the (Groucho) Marxist approach”, November 28). Yet the basis of his argument is a rather totalitarian belief in NPV (net present value) as the means to evaluate policy.
