Omnicom chief sees buying opportunity

Omnicom, the world's largest advertising agency group, said yesterday it saw opportunities for acquisitions in the economic downturn, even as it reported weaker performance in Europe.

Presenting second-quarter results to investors, John Wren, president and chief executive, said: "One positive side of the economic slowdown is the reduction in financial buyers interested in our industry."
