The ageing and growing UK population, combined with a shortage of British school-leavers taking medical qualifications, has doubled profits at Healthcare Locums, the recruitment agency for medical staff and social workers.

The company, which floated on Aim in 2005, supplies social workers, doctors, and healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists to the UK. Healthcare Locums also recruits nurses to work in the Middle East and North America. It recruits from 65 countries mainly by means of recruitment days held in hotels around the world.
