Clinton ponders top diplomat role

More names emerged as likely members of Barack Obama’s cabinet on Thursday as Hillary Clinton continued to consider becoming his secretary of state.

Janet Napolitano, Arizona’s governor, is favourite to be secretary for homeland security – a choice that could signal Mr Obama’s commitment to reform US immigration laws. As governor of a border state with a large Hispanic population, she is known for her expertise on the issue.
