BUDAPEST, April 19 - Hungary’s new prime minister said he was opposed to a Russian investor taking over Hungarian oil firm Mol and indicated his stance would not soften on the issue compared to his predecessor.
Gordon Bajnai, who was elected prime minister last Tuesday said he was unhappy with Russian Surgutneftegaz’s unsolicited purchase of a 21 per cent stake in Mol from Austria’s OMV as it was unclear what the Russian firm wanted to do with MOL, deemed by the government as a strategic asset.
