Environment: Masses of trees and soon to be a big oil producer

When the United Nations Climate Change Conference opens in Copenhagen on December 7, Brazil will receive a lot of attention.

This is not only because it is home to 60 per cent of the world’s largest rainforest, the Amazon, often known as the lungs of the world, but also because it takes an increasingly high profile on the world stage.
