Argentina signals return to credit markets

Argentina has formally announced its intention to settle outstanding debts worth more than $29bn with holders of default sovereign bonds in a move that could signal its return to international credit markets.

Amado Boudou, the economy minister, on Thursday announced a congressional bill that would lift a previous ban on negotiating with holders of default Argentine bonds.
