Indonesia to sue failed Dutch bank

Jakarta is taking legal action against a collapsed Dutch bank wholly owned by Indonesia’s central bank as it seeks to distance itself from a crisis threatening to undermine investors’ perception of its sovereign risk.

Sri Mulyani Indrawati, the Indonesian finance minister, told the Financial Times that the government had “no connection whatsoever with the ownership and activities of Indover Bank” and its collapse has no bearing on “government’s ability to manage the state’s finances”.
