Study finds improved governance in India

Indian companies with above-average corporate governance standards tend to be rewarded by investors with better market valuations, a study by Standard & Poor’s has found.

The four-year study into almost 300 listed Indian companies discovered that a single unit of upward movement in a company’s corporate governance ranking, as measured by S&P, directly corresponded with an improvement in its market valuation.
