Koreans defy rift to find unity in matrimony

On his office wall, matchmaker Hong Seung-woo has written the names of dozens of South Korean bachelors, widowers and divorcees. Those men he has found a partner for among women defecting from North Korea have a little red heart drawn by their names.

“They are very hasty. Sometimes they only meet once before they decide to get married,” he says.
