Russia denies firing missile at Georgia

Russia has denied Georgian accusations that its aircraft fired a missile on its territory and launched an investigation into the incident which threatens to worsen already tense relations with its southern neighbour and disrupt attempts to resolve a conflict over the breakaway region of South Ossetia.

Georgia claims aircraft flown from Russia dropped a missile on to its territory near the border with South Ossetia, narrowly missing the village of Tsitelubani, on Monday night.
