MOSCOW, April 21 - A Moscow judge released from jail on Tuesday a former lawyer and mother-of-three whose case had become a cause celebre for human rights activists.
Svetlana Bakhmina, 39, had worked for the Yukos oil company run by fallen oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky and her imprisonment for six and a half years was criticised by Kremlin foes as a political verdict lacking a proper basis in law.
