New UK car sales plunge

New car registrations in the UK fell by 23 per cent in October, according to data released on Thursday, as Britain’s automakers joined other companies in clamouring for interest rate cuts.

The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders said total car sales were down 8.8 per cent to 1.92m for the first ten months of the year.
