Egypt seeks to ease investor fears over tax

Egyptian ministers have sought to halt falls in the local stock market by assuring investors there are no plans to impose a capital gains tax.

The declines in the Cairo and Alexandria stock exchange began this month after the government adopted a series of measures to raise extra revenue to fund a salary increase for the public sector.
