Gloomy Fed sends dollar to one-month low

The dollar fell through $1.58 against the euro for the first time in a month on Wednesday after the Federal Reserve painted a gloomy picture of the US economy and oil prices continued to surge

Worries that the US economy might be facing a bout of stagflation increased after the minutes from April’s Federal Open Market Committee revealed that officials had both downgraded their outlook for growth, and expressed concerns over rising inflationary risks.
