Turnround specialist heads bid for Kroll

Kroll’s former European chairman is leading a move to buy the world’s biggest corporate security group from Marsh & McLennan, its owners.

David Buchler, the turnround specialist, has joined BC Partners, the private equity group, to bid for Kroll, valuing the business at $1.5bn-$1.6bn (€960m- €1.02bn). Marsh bought Kroll in 2004 for $1.9bn.
