Law in Pakistan is shield against hard times

Two months after opponents of Pakistan’s president Pervez Musharraf unexpectedly swept to office, the country’s lawyers’ movement remains restive.

It plans to intensify its campaign to seek the restoration of Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary, the former chief justice of the supreme court removed by Mr Musharraf just over a year ago.
