How Hillary can make a difference

Published: May 9 2008 03:00 | Last updated: May 9 2008 03:00

From Mr Brad Ruting.

Sir, Now that it looks as if Hillary Clinton will have to drop out of the US Democratic nomination race, perhaps she could follow the lead of the last Democratic presidential hopeful to be pipped at the last minute ("Clinton hunts for fresh funds to allow her campaign to continue", May 8). Al Gore has arguably done more than anyone else to bring attention to global warming and thus has had a huge policy impact. Mrs Clinton, despite some faults, is widely admired for her drive and determination. I eagerly wait for her to seize upon important global issues and make a difference that US presidents are often too weighed down to make.
