Business loses heart in Doha drudgery

The so-called Doha round of world trade talks is supposed to be a crunch meeting, with hundreds of billions of dollars in business at stake.

So it may seem surprising that the world's largest exporter has not sent a business delegation to this week's gathering of trade ministers in Geneva. The German business federation, BDI, is missing from the constellation of lobbyists orbiting the World Trade Organisation this week.
