Bupa move on MBF would treble Australian presence

Bupa is considering a A$1.5bn (£638m) bid for MBF, the Australian private health insurer, in a move that would almost treble the group’s presence in the country.

The combination would create Australia’s biggest private health insurer, with 1.8m policyholders and more than a quarter of the market.
