Sales slump sends NZ dollar to 3-month low

The New Zealand dollar dropped sharply to a four-month low against the dollar on Thursday after a slump in retail sales added to recent evidence that the country’s economy was slowing rapidly.

Sales plummeted 1.2 per cent in March, much weaker than expectations for 0.4 per cent fall.
