Taxing times for Indian commodities

It seems ironic that just as China is slashing transaction taxes to try to revive its struggling stock market, India is busy loading its promising but still nascent commodity futures markets with new taxes.

The Chinese government this week, recognising that its once-sizzling equities market is sliding into a deep slump, cut transaction taxes by a third.
