The only surprise about the Heineken European Cup final between Toulouse and Munster is that it has not happened before. Between them they have appeared in six of the past eight finals, while somehow missing each other.

Munster may be the exceptional team who are pleased to see Toulouse – whose three wins and four final appearances make them the Heineken’s equivalent of Real Madrid – occupying the other changing room on final day.
