‘Competition test’ lifts Asda hopes on stores

Asda expects to open an additional eight to 10 supermarkets a year as a result of last week’s recommendations by the Competition Commission that were slammed by Tesco.

Britain’s second-biggest grocer, owned by Wal-Mart of the US, said the Commission’s proposal of a “competition test” would help it almost double the number of stores it opened every year.
