Suspicion sours Russia’s contacts with US

When Dmitry Medvedev is inaugurated as Russia’s president on Wednesday he will face a US that is more suspicious of Moscow than at any time since the collapse of the Soviet Union.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Randy Scheunemann, the top foreign policy adviser to John McCain, spelled out the Republican presidential candidate’s tough policy on limiting international co-operation between Washington and Moscow.
