N Korea hands over nuclear documents

North Korea handed over thousands of pages of information about its nuclear programme to a US diplomat visiting Pyongyang, state department officials said on Thursday.

US diplomats hope the 8,000 pages of documents will help verify North Korea’s plutonium holdings to break an impasse in the six-party talks and pave the way for Pyongyang to give up its weapons grade material.
