The new points-based immigration system will not hinder Britain’s financial services sector from attracting “the most talented brains in the world”, the City minister will insist on Thursday.
Kitty Ussher will attempt to allay fears that new restrictions on non-European Union migrant workers could hit London’s competitiveness. “We’re absolutely committed to continuing to attract the people who’ve got the skills we need, wherever they’re from,” she will tell a City audience.
