North America managers upbeat

IMA fund sectorsFor fund managers within the IMA North America sector, asset allocation has taken place against the backdrop of a crisis in financials and property, a dip in consumer discretionary spending and a weakening of the dollar against a range of currencies.

But while managers could be expected to feel bearish about the prospects for their funds, the annual report on the sector by Standard & Poor's Fund Research says the general mood is surprisingly upbeat.
