BSkyB criticises Ofcom for pessimistic view

British Sky Broadcasting has challenged the assumptions of what constitutes public service broadcasting (PSB) and taunted Ofcom for what it described as the industry regulator’s overly pessimistic view.

In its submission to Ofcom’s review, BSkyB opposes the idea that only free-to-air operators such as the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 can provide programming that serves a social purpose.
