Licensing fall hits ARM

ARM Holdings, the British chip designer, recorded a 6 per cent drop in profits in the second quarter and a sharp decline in processor licensing revenues.

The news sent the shares down 3¼p to 92¼p, although Warren East, chief executive, said ARM was making “good progress in challenging market conditions”.
