RIM shares lifted by launch of ‘iPhone killer’

Shares in Research in Motion reached a record high on Monday after the Canadian manufacturer of the BlackBerry family of smartphones announced a new 3G flagship device dubbed the “Bold”.

The shares were up 6.9 per cent to $141.78 in early afternoon trading on Nasdaq.
