Orascom Telecom cuts ties with HTIL

Orascom Telecom has cut ties with Hutchison Telecommunications International. The Cairo-based group has sold the remainder of its stake in the company to HTIL’s parent, Hutchison Whampoa.

Hutchison and its chairman, Li Ka-shing, will pay Orascom a combined HK$7.5bn ($962m) for its remaining 14.2 per cent stake in HTIL.
