Watchdog urges responsibility on web claims

The chairman of the Advertising Standards Authority has called on companies to be more responsible in website claims about pricing and availability following a surge in complaints.

The ASA’s annual report, published on Wednesday, reveals that last year internet advertising garnered the second-largest number of complaints by media, after television – overtaking the national press for the first time, and reflecting the shift in advertising budgets.
