Gold price bites into Guatemalan tradition

Magdalena Cué first started noticing her future husband when he came back from the dentist with two shiny gold front teeth.

“He looked so handsome,” said the 26-year-old mother of two from Santa María Cauqué, a small town about 35km from Guatemala’s ­capital that is dominated by the country’s Cakchiquel Indians.
