Royal Mail tackles sick days for big savings

Royal Mail has saved many times the cost of a £46m ($91m) investment in sickness absence management in a programme that could generate savings of £1.45bn a year if applied to the worst-­affected parts of the economy, according to a new report.

A few years back Royal Mail and Parcelforce were bywords for their high rates of absence, with 7 per cent of employees missing on any one day.
