Manganese Bronze, the company that builds most of London's black cabs, has agreed to sell 500 of the vehicles to buyers round the world through its Chinese joint venture.

The sales are conditional on the Coventry-based company meeting its deadline to start production in Shanghai by the end of the year, a move the company hopes will make it less dependent on fickle demand in its London stronghold.
