Blair to avoid annual party conference

Just three months after stepping down as prime minister, Tony Blair has decided against attending the annual conference of the party he led for 13 years.

“Mr Blair has meetings in New York next week as it is UN General Assembly week, so due to his Quartet responsibilities he will be unable to attend,” a spokesman said.
