DSG faces worst of times to spark revival

John Browett’s job just got harder. It was already going to be difficult to convince investors that the strategic review he has been working on since taking the job of chief executive of DSG International last December would revive the electrical retailer’s fortunes.

After yesterday’s profit warning, the presentation of his new strategy in mid-May will be critical. Though Mr Browett came to DSG, the former Dixons, with excellent credentials, the former Tesco executive has joined a business with a patchy record to say the least.
