Five artists have been chosen to compete for a £2m ($3.9m) sculpture commission that is set to become the south of England’s version of Antony Gormley’s “Angel of the North”.

The 50-metre-high sculpture, standing as tall as Nelson’s Column, will be erected on a hilltop over the Ebbsfleet Valley in Kent to mark the area’s development as a property and business centre.
