From Mr Stephen MD Day.
Sir, An outstanding suggestion by Stephen Walt: “Snowden deserves an immediate presidential pardon” (Comment, July 9). As a naturalised US citizen, who left England in 1969 because of the lure of America’s open society and freedoms, I would have gone even further, and proposed a Congressional Medal no less. But in our current red or blue states bifurcation, that would be a bridge too far.
I’m reminded of a prescient anonymous aphorism: “To err is human, but to really f*** things up you need a computer!” Bravo, Edward Snowden.
