Sovereign funds consider taking Barclays stakes

Singapore's Temasek Holdings and the Qatar Investment Authority are among the sovereign wealth funds considering backing a share issue by Barclays as the UK bank seeks to raise more than £4bn from investors.

The sovereign funds, along with other potential investors, are mulling over whether to help anchor the proposed share sale, which would assist Barclays in rebuilding its capital reserves without resorting to a rights issue.
